Last week I attended the WiT career panel and it was my first time doing an elevator pitch and providing resumes.
With that said, the experience allowed me to learn how to be natural in front of recruiters and introduce myself in relation to their careers and roles.
I did my best to ask unique questions and be an active listener.
I was nervous and I have a lot of room for improvement but I believe the experience was worthwhile because I know what to expect.
By paying attention to the people in front of me speaking to other recruiters, I notice what parts they emphasise and how they present their skills and experiences.
I hope to apply what I learned to my next recruitment and further practice both my conversational skills and my elevator pitch.
One of the most significant things for me is to build my confidence when going up and speaking to people one-on-one.
Something I’ve had very little opportunity to experience.
